Applications open for the 2026 cycle
Down-ballot is where the power actually sits.
School boards set curriculum. County clerks run elections. State legislatures draw the maps. Downballot is the campaign infrastructure for the races that decide the most and get the least attention.
Free during the beta. Invite-only, by application.
Downballot Workplan
Tasks, projects and boards for the whole cycle. Recurring work that actually recurs, a personal list for every organizer, and a shared board nobody has to be reminded to update.
About Downballot WorkplanDownballot Engage
Your voters, supporters and local businesses in one place, with an append-only consent record behind every phone number and address, because who you may contact is not a field you can overwrite.
About Downballot EngageWhy one system
Two apps that were built to share an organization.
Most campaigns run a task tracker that knows nothing about their contacts and a contact list that knows nothing about their work. These two share a database, so they share a member list, a permission model and an audit trail.
- One organization, not two accounts
- Both apps share the same organization, the same member list and the same permissions. Add someone once; remove them once.
- Permissions that hold
- Access is resolved in one place in the database, not scattered across pages. A volunteer who leaves stops seeing everything, everywhere, immediately.
- Consent kept like a record
- Opt-ins and opt-outs are recorded per channel and never edited in place. A correction is a new entry, so the history survives the correction.
- Built for turnover
- Volunteers rotate every cycle. Invitations, roles and removals are ordinary operations here, not a favour you ask an administrator for.
For campaigns
School board to state house.
One cycle, one candidate, a team that is mostly volunteers and a budget that is mostly not there. Everything organized in one place from the day you file.
Downballot for campaignsFor county parties
Every seat on the ballot, every cycle.
Recruit candidates, coordinate committees and hand work off across turnover, without the county's institutional memory living in one person's inbox.
Downballot for county partiesThe beta
Free while it runs, and we tell you well before it stops.
Downballot is free for every organization in the beta. It will not be free forever, but you get at least 90 days' notice before that changes, along with what pricing will look like and enough time to decide. You can export your data throughout.
Tell us about your race.
Applications are reviewed every Monday, and you will hear back within a week either way.
