The product

Two apps. One organization.

Every organization in the beta gets both. They are not modules you assemble. They were built to share a database, which is what lets them share everything else.

The work

Downballot Workplan

Tasks, projects and boards for a campaign that runs on volunteers. A personal list for every organizer, a shared board for the team, and recurring work that keeps recurring after the person who set it up moves on.

About Downballot Workplan

The people

Downballot Engage

Contacts, supporters and local businesses, with an append-only consent record behind every phone number and email. A system of record for who you may contact, and proof of why you believed it.

About Downballot Engage

What they share

The part you cannot buy as two separate tools.

A task tracker that knows nothing about your contacts and a contact list that knows nothing about your work is the normal arrangement, and it is where a campaign's institutional memory goes to die.

One member list
Invite a volunteer once and they exist in both apps at the role you gave them. Remove them once and they are gone from both, immediately.
One permission model
Access is resolved in a single place in the database rather than page by page. There is no surface that quietly forgot to check.
Private by default where it matters
A project starts private to the people you add. Opening it up is a deliberate act, and converting one back asks you what that will change.
Nothing disappears by accident
Deletes are recoverable, edits are attributed, and the record of who changed what is kept rather than overwritten.

And the administration around them

Members, roles, invitations and the settings that decide what your organization is allowed to record, including which outreach channels require an opt-in, which is a question with a different answer in different states. That lives in one place and applies to both apps.

Both apps. One application.

Tell us about your organization and your race. We review every Monday and reply within a week either way.
